On Thursday 3 April 2025, our People & Culture team attended the TradeMe breakfast series. Our team explored key trends impacting recruitment and workforce development, both globally and within New Zealand.
Discussions covered how global economic factors, including those in the US, and the influence of political changes are impacting local employment markets.
The key takeaways for the team included insights into current employment and unemployment statistics, trends in job vacancies and advertisements, and the changing patterns of job growth. We also discussed shifting employee values, key skill gaps across various industries, and strategies for upskilling and attracting the right talent in an evolving labor market.
